Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Tapeout Engineer to work closely with customers on various tooling forms and to manage the critical tapeout process. The role involves creating essential deliverables such as EN (Engineering Notice), LHN (Lot Handling Notice), converting GDS files to MEBES formats for mask making, and running comprehensive Design Rule Checks (DRC) and Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) checks to ensure manufacturing readiness.

1. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Generate, review, and maintain Customer Foundry Tapeout documentation such as EN, LHN, and related deliverables, ensuring compliance with foundry requirements.
  • Perform Frame/Reticle making using EDA tools, coordinating with design and manufacturing teams to meet mask and lithography constraints.
  • Insert and verify test structures, alignment marks, and etching marks in scribe lines to support process monitoring and yield learning.
  • Run and sign off DRC/LVS checks or DB CHECKS, troubleshoot violations, and ensure a clean, production-ready tapeout database

2. Technical Skills and Tool Expertise

  • Strong expertise in physical verification workflows, including DRC/LVS and Database (DB) checks, across advanced technology nodes.
  • Hands-on experience with industry-standard EDA tools for frame definition, reticle composition, and tapeout automation.
  • In-depth knowledge of foundry interfaces, tapeout documentation standards (EN, LHN, etc.), and mask data preparation requirements.
