Key Responsibility
Sourcing & Supplier Management
Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with semiconductor equipment suppliers, focusing on advanced technologies, innovation, and long‑term partnerships.
Equipment Qualification & Integration
Lead technical qualification, FAT/SAT, and performance testing of new equipment while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless production integration.
Supplier Evaluation & Selection
Conduct technical audits, assess supplier capabilities, and work with cross‑functional teams to select reliable suppliers and maintain ongoing support for equipment upgrades and new technologies.
Cost & Negotiation Support
Support commercial teams in negotiations, develop Cost of Ownership (CoO) models, and collaborate with finance and engineering stakeholders to optimize CapEx and long‑term equipment costs.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & NPI Support
Work with process, industrial, module engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and maintenance teams to align specifications, support NPIs, and ensure equipment reliability and maintainability.
Risk Management & Business Continuity
Identify sourcing risks (supply chain, obsolescence, vendor reliability), develop mitigation strategies, and maintain alternative supplier options to minimize production disruptions.
Technology, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Stay updated on semiconductor equipment trends, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance CoO, efficiency, and equipment performance.
Qualification
- Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM) is a plus.
Experience
- 5~10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with a focus on equipment sourcing, process engineering, and procurement.
- Deep technical knowledge of semiconductor equipment such as deposition, etching, lithography, or metrology tools.
Additional Technical Requirements
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and the equipment required to support front-end or back-end fabrication.
- Knowledge of equipment qualification procedures, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and reliability testing.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as SEMI and ISO, as well as regulatory requirements related to semiconductor equipment.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with experience securing favorable terms for capital equipment purchases is a plus.
- Excellent project management skills to oversee multiple equipment sourcing and qualification projects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
