Key Responsibility
Sourcing of Semiconductor Equipment
Identify and assess suppliers of semiconductor manufacturing equipment; conduct market research on advanced technologies to enhance manufacturing and reduce costs; build a network of innovative and cost‑efficient equipment suppliers for long‑term partnerships.
Equipment Qualification
Lead technical qualification and validation of new equipment to meet process specifications; coordinate performance testing, FAT/SAT with engineering and manufacturing teams; ensure seamless integration of equipment into production lines in collaboration with suppliers.
Supplier Evaluation and Selection
Perform technical audits to evaluate supplier capabilities, quality systems, and service support; work with cross‑functional teams to select reliable suppliers; maintain long‑term relationships to ensure continuous support, timely upgrades, and access to new technologies.
Cost Management and Negotiation Support
Support commercial sourcing teams in negotiations for favorable warranty and service terms; develop Cost of Ownership (CoO) models factoring maintenance, downtime, and operational costs; collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and finance teams to optimize CapEx.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with process, industrial, module, manufacturing, and R&D teams to ensure equipment specifications meet production needs; support NPIs by sourcing and qualifying equipment for new processes; work with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and ease of maintenance.
Risk Management
Identify sourcing risks including supply chain disruptions, obsolescence, and vendor reliability; implement mitigation strategies through alternative sourcing and redundancy plans; collaborate with suppliers to minimize production disruptions.
Technology, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
Track emerging technologies and industry trends; assess new technologies for efficiency, cost savings, and innovation potential; ensure compliance with SEMI, ISO, SECS‑GEM and regulatory standards; coordinate with legal/compliance teams on procurement contracts; drive continuous improvement and CoO reduction initiatives by optimizing equipment performance and reliability.
Qualification
- 3~5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, with a focus on equipment sourcing, process engineering, and procurement.
- Deep technical knowledge of semiconductor equipment such as deposition, etching, lithography, or metrology tools.
Experience
Additional Technical Requirements
- Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and the equipment required to support front-end or back-end fabrication.
- Knowledge of equipment qualification procedures, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and reliability testing.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as SEMI and ISO, as well as regulatory requirements related to semiconductor equipment.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with experience securing favorable terms for capital equipment purchases is a plus.
- Excellent project management skills to oversee multiple equipment sourcing and qualification projects.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Proficient in supply chain management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Other:
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for supplier audits, equipment testing, and installation oversight.
