Purpose
This role needs skills as system design, operations support, and optimization, tailored to the strict quality and environmental demands of the semiconductor industry.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineer to support and optimize Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) in a high-tech semiconductor manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with process design, system integration, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring of critical utility systems supporting semiconductor fabs. The role includes leading vendor management, reviewing design deliverables, and ensuring engineering documentation meets project and operational requirements.
Key Responsibility
- Ultra-Pure Water Systems:
- Develop, review, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), commissioning plans, and test protocols.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and optimization of UPW generation and distribution systems (e.g., RO, EDI, UV, ion exchange, degasification, filtration).
- Ensure UPW quality meets the stringent standards required for semiconductor processes.
- Support startup, commissioning, and qualification activities as the client representative
- Engineering and Project Support:
- Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives (e.g., energy/water savings, equipment reliability).
- Support capital projects including equipment selection, commissioning, and startup for water systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (facilities, EHS, manufacturing, quality, vendors) to support fab operations.
- Collaborate with project management and project execution, operations, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of water utility systems.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure safe work practices in all activities and lead process hazard reviews (HAZOP, FMEA).
- Stay current with environmental regulations (e.g., local wastewater regulations) and industry best practices.
Develop SOPs, training materials, and O&M documentation.
Qualification
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications is a plus.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in UPW systems in a semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech industry.
- Familiarity with equipment and technologies such as ACF, RO, DI, UV, MF/UF, chemical treatment systems, and chemical dosing systems.
Additional Technical Requirements
- Proficient in using of process modelling tools and AutoCAD/P&ID software
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to system performance and reliability.
- Working knowledge of water chemistry and analytical instrumentation.
