Tata Electronics is a subsidiary of the Tata group. The Tata Group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with the mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long term stakeholder value creation based on leadership with Trust.’

Purpose

Execute technical sourcing strategies for Dry Etch equipment and critical components (Lam, TEL, AMAT, PSK). This role is responsible for coordinating technical specification reviews, managing supplier delivery (OTD), and driving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reduction.

Key Responsibility

1. Sourcing Execution & Supplier Coordination

  • Execute sourcing plans for Dry Etch equipment (Lam, TEL, AMAT, PSK) based on defined category strategies.
  • Coordinate technical specification reviews and assist in tool platform evaluations (e.g., Kiyo, Flex, Sym3) for performance and cost alignment.
  • Facilitate commercial negotiations and manage the administrative lifecycle of purchase orders and contracts.
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and capacity status to ensure timely tool arrival for fab ramps.

2. Cost Analysis & TCO Maintenance

  • Maintain and update cost models for tools, modules, and spare parts.
  • Analyze TCO data, including spares consumption and maintenance costs, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Execute cost-reduction initiatives, such as parts refurbishment programs or hardware upgrade ROI assessments.
  • Support engineering and finance teams in tracking the progress of cost-saving programs.

3. Operational & Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with equipment/process engineering to ensure tool configurations meet technical requirements (CD, uniformity).
  • Facilitate tool procurement and installation schedules, ensuring FAT/SAT and qualification milestones are met.
  • Partner with quality teams to monitor supplier quality metrics and support supplier audits or improvement plans.

4. Supply Chain Risk Execution

  • Identify and report supply risks, such as EOL (End-of-Life) parts or capacity shortages.
  • Support second-source qualification by coordinating sample testing and performance data collection.
  • Assist in executing strategic inventory plans for critical long-lead time components (e.g., RF generators, ESC).

5. Data Management & Business Analysis

  • Analyze data (PM history, MTBF/MTTR) to identify failure modes and cost drivers.
  • Utilize analytical tools (Excel, SAP, JMP) to generate supplier scorecards and risk mitigation reports.
  • Prepare data packages for Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) with key OEMs.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in semiconductor Dry Etch equipment engineering or technical sourcing.
  • Track record of successfully executing equipment installation or cost-reduction projects.

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Dry Etch technologies (CCP, ICP, RIE) and tool subsystems (RF power, gas delivery, ESC, robotics).
  • Familiarity with major OEM platforms: Lam (Kiyo/Flex), AMAT (Sym3/Producer), TEL (DRM/LK).
  • Basic knowledge of chamber parts materials (Quartz, Silicon, Ceramic).
  • Proficient in Excel (Advanced) and SAP/ERP; experience with JMP is a plus.

SCM / Business Skills

  • Experience in procurement workflows, cost analysis, and basic negotiation.
  • Ability to manage supplier delivery schedules in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
