Job Summary:
Looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor or OSAT manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing automation systems for front-end and back-end assembly, test, and packaging processes. This role requires close collaboration with manufacturing, MES, IT/OT, and equipment engineering teams to improve factory throughput, yield, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain automation solutions across packaging, test, and probing lines.
- Integrate equipment with MES and other factory systems (e.g., SECS/GEM, OPC, PLC, SCADA).
- Develop and support automation scripts, APIs, and logic for data acquisition and tool control.
- Lead or support Industry 4.0 initiatives, such as smart manufacturing, predictive maintenance, and robotics integration.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and ensure high equipment uptime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather automation requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, validation protocols, and SOPs.
- Monitor and improve automation system performance through KPIs and continuous improvement practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in automation within semiconductor/OSAT manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of MES, IT/OT architecture, and equipment communication protocols.
- Basic understanding of scripting languages (Python, VB, or C#) for automation tasks.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with smart factory, RPA, or digital twin technologies.
- Exposure to machine learning, data analytics, or AI-driven automation.
- Hands-on experience with SECS/GEM, EDA (Interface A) and equipment integration.
- Experience in supporting 24x7 manufacturing operations with high availability systems.
- Knowledge of recipe management systems (RMS) and unit-level traceability.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Team player with a proactive, hands-on attitude.
