About The Business:

 

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

 

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Job Purpose:

• Operate and set up conventional and CNC tool room machines to manufacture, repair, modify, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and precision components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Set up and operate lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, and other tool room machines.
• Manufacturing and repair tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and machine parts.
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
• Inspect components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality requirements.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and maintain machine cleanliness.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
• Follow safety, quality, and company procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• ITI/Diploma in Machinist, Tool & Die Making, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-5 years of tool room machining experience (or as required).
• Knowledge of machining practices, tooling, materials, and tolerances.

Skills & Competencies:

• Blueprint reading and GD&T awareness.
• Strong measurement and inspection skills.
• Problem solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

KPIs:

• Tool manufacturing/repair completion on schedule.
• Dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.
• Machine utilization and productivity.
• Reduction of tooling downtime and rework.
