Role Summary

 

The Plant Finance Chartered Accountant is responsible for managing all financial operations at the plant, including cost control, budgeting, statutory compliance, financial planning, and performance reporting. The role ensures financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare annual plant budgets, rolling forecasts, and cashflow projections; monitor spend tracker and pending payables.
  • Verify RA bills against approved packages and certification. Coordinate with SCM, Projects, and Payables teams to ensure timely invoice clearance and vendor payments.
  • Handle project accounting including cost tracking, commitments, budget vs. actual monitoring, and capex-related financial validation.
  • Track material consumption, wastage, rejections, scrap; perform valuation and reconciliation of RM, WIP, and FG; support physical audits and cycle counts.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, coordinate with internal/external auditors, and support central / state subsidy-related activities as required.
  • Prepare monthly MIS (cost sheets, variances, profitability), regularly update BI dashboards, review capex/PO/vendor documents, and drive plant-wide cost-saving initiatives.
  • Execute monthly book closure including accruals/provisions.

 

Qualifications & Skills

 

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 3–5 years in plant finance or manufacturing finance roles.
  • ERP experience (SAP) preferred.
  • Cost accounting, standard costing, budgeting, Ind-AS.
  • Advanced Excel and data analytics skills.
  • Plant-based role requiring coordination with operations teams.
  • Occasional travel to corporate offices or vendors as required.
