About the Business:

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

 

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence. Tata Electronics is a subsidiary of the Tata group.

Overview: 

The Deputy Manager – Program Management will lead strategic and operational programs supporting the TEPL OSAT Assam plant start-up, ramp-up, and manufacturing operations. This role will partner closely with the Program Manager, Business Head, and cross-functional leadership teams to drive execution excellence, operational readiness, risk management, and stakeholder alignment across multiple business-critical initiatives.

The position requires a seasoned professional capable of independently managing complex workstreams, driving accountability across functions, resolving escalations, and ensuring timely delivery of key business objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Execution

· Lead and drive multiple cross-functional programs and strategic initiatives from planning through execution.

· Develop, maintain, and govern integrated project schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.

· Ensure alignment of project objectives with business priorities and operational requirements.

· Lead reviews, governance forums, and leadership discussions when required.

 

Strategic Planning & Decision Support

· Drive program reviews, executive updates, and governance mechanisms for leadership.

· Conduct scenario analysis, capacity assessments, and decision-making support for critical business initiatives.

· Prepare executive-level presentations, business cases, and strategic recommendations.

 

Risk & Issue Management

· Establish and maintain comprehensive risk registers and mitigation plans.

· Proactively identify program risks, resource constraints, and execution challenges.

· Lead escalation management and coordinate timely resolution across stakeholders.

 

Operational Readiness & Factory Ramp

· Drive manufacturing readiness activities for plant start-up, equipment qualification, new product introduction (NPI), and volume ramp.

· Monitor operational KPIs and readiness metrics across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Facilities, and EHS functions.

· Ensure smooth transition from project execution into sustained operations.

 

Cross-Functional Leadership

· Coordinate and influence cross-functional teams to achieve program goals.

· Drive accountability through structured action tracking and management reviews.

· Facilitate alignment between Projects, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Facilities, and Business teams.

 

Governance & Performance Management

· Establish program dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting systems.

· Conduct regular project health reviews and critical path assessments.

· Support development and implementation of PMO best practices and governance frameworks.

 

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

· Support customer reviews, audits, business visits, and executive presentations.

· Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders.

· Represent Program Management in customer discussions and operational reviews as needed.

Continuous Improvement

· Lead initiatives focused on operational excellence, process improvements, and productivity enhancement.

· Drive lessons learned, standardization, and implementation of best practices across programs.

· Support digitalization and automation of program management processes and reporting.

 

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.

· MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.

· 10-15+ years of experience in Program Management, Manufacturing Operations, Plant Start-up, Industrial Engineering, PMO, or related leadership roles.

· Experience in Semiconductor, Electronics Manufacturing, Automotive, EMS, OSAT, or other high-technology manufacturing environments preferred.

· Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Power BI, and data analysis tools.

· PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, or equivalent certification preferred.

· Proven experience managing complex cross-functional programs with executive stakeholder engagement.

· Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, commissioning, risk management, NPI, ramp-up, and operational readiness processes.
