Position Overview
The Quality Management System (QMS) Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving the organization's Quality Management System. This role ensures compliance with applicable industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. The QMS Engineer will collaborate across departments to maintain high-quality processes and uphold the company’s commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and Maintain the Quality Management System
- Establish, implement, and maintain the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 26262, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with QMS requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop, review, and update quality procedures, work instructions, process documents, and quality manuals to align with industry best practices.
- Ensure proper documentation control and standardization across the organization.
2. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs
- Stay updated with evolving regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer-specific quality expectations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant certifications and standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, TS 16949, SEMI, RoHS, and other regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer audits, certification audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Prepare audit documentation, coordinate audit activities, and ensure timely closure of audit findings through corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
3. Customer Satisfaction and Relationship Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional and customer-facing teams to understand product quality requirements, customer expectations, and feedback.
- Address customer concerns proactively and implement corrective actions to enhance customer satisfaction and long-term relationships.
- Participate in customer audits, technical discussions, and site visits, presenting quality performance metrics and demonstrating the organization’s commitment to quality excellence.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
- Advanced degree preferred.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent professional quality certifications.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in quality management, process quality, or QMS implementation in manufacturing or engineering environments.
Technical Requirements
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 26262, ISO 13485, ISO 14001.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements including RoHS and SEMI.
- Hands-on experience with internal audits, external audits, documentation management, and corrective action processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
