About The Business:
Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.
Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Job Summary:
The Toolmaker will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, maintaining, and repairing tools, dies, moulds, jigs, and fixtures used in production. The role requires hands-on experience in tool room operations and the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacture, assemble, and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and moulds as per drawings.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.
- Operate conventional machines such as Lathe, Milling, Surface Grinding, and Drilling machines.
- Support tool trials, modifications, and continuous improvement activities.
- Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure tool life and performance.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues during production.
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain 5S standards in the tool room.
- Maintain tool-related documentation and records.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Sound knowledge of tooling processes and materials.
- Ability to read and understand 2D drawings and basic GD&T'.
- Hands-on experience with tool room measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Tool & Die Making or Mechanical Engineering.
Desired Experience:
- 2–3 years of experience in tooling or manufacturing environment
