Responsibilities
- To lead the procurement function for feeder parts, raw materials, consumables, and cutting tools in a high-volume, mass production environment. The role ensures uninterrupted material supply, cost optimization, and supplier performance to support continuous manufacturing operations
Essential Attributes
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for high-volume production materials including feeder parts, raw materials, consumables, and cutting tools.
- Ensure 100% on-time delivery of materials to support mass production schedules.
- Evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) targets.
- Collaborate with production, planning, maintenance, and quality teams to align procurement with operational needs.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through supplier consolidation.
- Implement supplier performance metrics and conduct regular reviews.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, safety standards, and statutory regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 15-18 years of experience in procurement or supply chain in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of direct materials used in electronics or precision manufacturing.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and MS Excel.
Desired Experience Level
• Experience in electronics or automotive manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing, JIT, and Kanban systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
