About The Business:
Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.
Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities:
- Good knowledge on prior art search.
- Able to generate IEEE paper formats for the team and submit and manage patents for the department with legal side.
- Identify IP opportunities within the patent portfolio (e.g., licensing, selling, enforcement), including litigation.
- Analyse third-party patent claims to assess potential risks; develop and implement defence strategies against such claims.
- Manage the IP portfolio by participating in regular patent committee meetings.
- Handle invention disclosures and draft patent applications; prepare replies to office actions within a specific technical subfield of the ANS (Architecture & Network Solutions) portfolio. Support IP attorneys with filing, and subsequent filings.
- Conduct IP training sessions.
- Guide inventors and help resolve remuneration-related conflicts, supporting the TSAT Head in managing disputes.
- Prepare IP landscape analyses for TSAT.
Essential Attributes:
- Good understanding of semiconductor process flow.
- Previous knowledge of writing papers and patents.
- End to end business process understanding of patenting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Materials Science Engineering.
Desired Experience Level:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in semiconductor environment.
