Job Summary

As the Quality Assurance Test Manager in our semiconductor backend manufacturing facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by upholding superior product quality standards and delivering reliable test performance. You will be responsible for overseeing quality assurance activities across wafer sort, final test, and system-level test operations. This includes ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards, driving defect reduction and yield improvement initiatives, and managing audit readiness. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering, test operations, and customer quality teams to resolve issues, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.


Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality management systems and processes to ensure product quality throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality-related inquiries, issues, and concerns.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through proactive communication, collaboration, and responsiveness to their needs.

  • Work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to address customer feedback and drive corrective actions to resolve quality issues promptly, using structured problem-solving methods such as 8D.

3. Quality Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.

  • Prepare and review regular reports with the customer quality lead on quality performance.

  • Lead or participate in continuous improvement projects.

  • Submit and monitor Product Change Notifications (PCN) until closure.

  • Review and provide gap analysis for customer specifications.

4. New Product Introduction (NPI) Support

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the NPI process to ensure that new products meet quality standards and customer requirements.

  • Provide input on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Quality (DFQ) considerations to optimize product quality and reliability.

5. Regulatory Compliance

  • Stay abreast of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to semiconductor manufacturing quality.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific standards.

6. Training and Development

  • Provide training and guidance to engineers and technicians on quality processes, standards, and best practices.

  • Foster a culture of quality excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization.


Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is required.

    • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 10–12 years of proven experience in quality assurance, preferably in semiconductor manufacturing or a related industry.

  • Certifications:

    • Quality certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ISO/IATF auditor) are desirable.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Strong understanding of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control, 8D problem solving).

    • Specialized knowledge of semiconductor backend equipment, including testers, handlers, and probers.

    • Familiarity with major test platforms such as Advantest, Teradyne, and Cohu.

    • Hands-on experience with prober platforms such as TEL, Accretech, and SEMICS.

    • Familiarity with handler platforms including Turret, Hontech, and Pick-and-Place systems.

  • Problem Solving:

    • Expert in the 8D problem-solving methodology and able to apply it rigorously to resolve complex customer quality issues.
