Job Summary

As a Supplier Quality Manager in our semiconductor backend assembly and test manufacturing operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of components sourced from external suppliers. You will be responsible for supplier evaluation, development, and ongoing performance management to uphold the highest quality standards and minimize risks to manufacturing operations. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that align with business goals.


Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier Evaluation and Selection

  • Conduct thorough assessments of potential suppliers to evaluate capabilities, quality management systems, and adherence to industry standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and qualify suppliers that meet company quality and performance requirements.

2. Quality Assurance

  • Develop and implement quality assurance programs and procedures to monitor and maintain the quality of incoming components.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track supplier quality performance and drive continuous improvement.

3. Supplier Development

  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues, drive corrective actions, and implement preventive measures.

  • Provide guidance and support to suppliers in implementing best practices for quality management and process improvement.

4. Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks related to supplier quality and develop effective mitigation strategies.

  • Conduct risk assessments of critical suppliers and create contingency plans to minimize operational disruptions.

5. Compliance and Audits

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in supplier quality management.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of supplier facilities to verify compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to align supplier quality objectives with overall business goals.

  • Facilitate communication between internal teams and suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive resolution.


Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

    • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience:

    • Extensive experience in semiconductor backend manufacturing, with a focus on supplier quality management.

    • Proven track record of managing supplier quality programs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • In-depth knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 26262, or equivalent standards.

    • Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies.

    • Skilled in problem-solving methodologies (8D, FMEA, Control Plan).

  • Certifications:

    • Certification in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma) is a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
