About The Business

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

Incoming Inspection & Verification

  • Conduct thorough inspection of incoming materials against purchase orders, engineering drawings, and quality specifications using appropriate inspection methods (visual, dimensional, and functional testing).
  • Utilize measuring tools and inspection equipment to verify critical dimensions, parameters, and material characteristics.
  • Identify, segregate, and document defects or non-conformances detected during incoming inspection.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, including Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), clearly documenting findings, dispositions, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and incoming quality data, including supplier quality performance metrics.
  • Update and control quality documentation related to incoming materials in accordance with Quality Management System requirements.

Quality Control & Supplier Management

  • Implement and enforce IQC procedures, including sampling plans, inspection standards, and acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor supplier performance based on quality data and key metrics, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and Supplier Quality teams to resolve quality issues through corrective and preventive actions.

Communication & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate inspection results, quality risks, and non-conformances to Production, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, and Engineering teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve incoming quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance incoming material quality and supply chain reliability.

Qualifications

•            Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.

Desired Experience Level

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in the Semiconductor industry or high-reliability manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies, inspection techniques, and basic statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools and measuring equipment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001.
