Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.
Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Industrial Engineer with 5–10 years of experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. The role focuses on driving operational excellence through process optimization, productivity improvement, and efficient manufacturing practices.
The ideal candidate will have a BE/BTech in Industrial, Mechanical, Electronics, or related field, along with strong experience in lean manufacturing, line balancing, and EMS production environments such as SMT, PCBA, and box build assembly.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze manufacturing processes and drive cycle time reduction, productivity improvement, and cost optimization.
- Experience with productivity / Line data tracking, UPH Line capacity , OEE, Yield calculation ,Analyse labor efficiency, bottlenecks, and throughput losses and reporting tools
- Support NPI by defining CT, HC, and ramp‑up models
- Drive continuous improvement to reduce CT and optimize manpower,
- Ensure layouts comply with EHS, ergonomic, and statutory requirements ,Familiarity with OSHA, EHS and ergonomic standards in manufacturing
- Knowledge of time study, work measurement & sampling, MTM concepts, motion studies using MOST/ MODAPTS
- Knowledge in Line Automation solutions & IOT systems is add on
- Hands on experience in SAP/MES system , EBOM to BOM and support work center creation & BOM release activity
- Conduct time & motion studies and implement line balancing for efficient manpower and resource utilization.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives (5S, Kaizen, VSM, waste elimination) to improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain capacity plans, monitor throughput, and optimize OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring manufacturability, process readiness, and smooth product launches.
- Design and optimize plant layouts, workflows, and material flow for improved space utilization and efficiency.
- Identify production bottlenecks, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Supply Chain) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize tools such as ERP/MES, Excel, Power BI, and Minitab for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, support FMEA/SPC activities, and improve yield in SMT/PCBA/EMS operations.
Tools/Skills:
- Experience with layout design tools (AutoCAD/ 3D or equivalent)
- Exposure to MES / ERP/ SAP, Industry 4.0 is an advantage
